Festival Season: How to Drink Smarter (Not Less)

Multi-day festivals are a gauntlet for your body. Here's how to protect your sleep, energy, and next-day functioning without sitting out the party.

The Real Problem with Festival Drinking

It's not the drinking itself — it's the compound effect over multiple days. Disrupted sleep, dehydration, acetaldehyde buildup, and B-vitamin depletion stack up fast. By Sunday afternoon, most people aren't hungover from the night before; they're running on a three-day deficit.

Before You Drink: Set the Foundation

Hydration starts before you arrive. Arrive with electrolytes topped up, especially sodium and magnesium — two minerals that alcohol actively flushes out. One PREGAME shot taken 15–30 minutes before your first drink gives your liver a head start on acetaldehyde clearance.

During the Night

Pace, don't race. Your liver processes roughly one standard drink per hour. Outrunning that rate is where acetaldehyde accumulates. Alternate alcoholic drinks with water — not as a rule, as a strategy. You'll last longer, feel sharper, and remember more of the music.

Eat real food. Festival food often means beige carbs. Protein and fat slow alcohol absorption and buffer blood sugar swings. A proper meal before you start drinking is worth more than any supplement.

Sleep Actually Matters

Alcohol suppresses REM sleep even in small quantities. DHM appears to moderate the GABA-A receptor rebound that wrecks sleep quality after drinking — which is why PREGAME's formula centres on it. Better sleep between festival days is the single biggest lever you have for second-day performance.

The Morning After

Rehydrate with electrolytes first, coffee second. B-vitamins replenish what alcohol depletes. Give your digestive system something easy — fruit, eggs, anything light. And if the festival runs another day: repeat the PREGAME protocol before round two.

The goal isn't to drink less. It's to recover faster and show up fully for every day.
